Medisort innovation recognition
Congratulations to Sussex based specialist clinical waste contractor, Medisort, for achieving grade ‘B – very good’ for their Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with our South East Hub, the University of Brighton.
Medisort work to collect, process, and dispose of healthcare waste in the southeast of England.
The KTP enabled the company to access academic expertise from the University of Brighton’s School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences. The partnership drove the development of waste treatment and material recovery processes, enhancing segregation and recyclability of bulk offensive waste materials from the healthcare sector.
Talking about his KTP experience, Stuart Brittle, Managing Director of Medisort, says:
“Engagement in the KTP facilitated the development of a relationship with University of Brighton that has seeded research and development as part of Medisort’s normal business and encouraged our progressive change from waste disposal to materials recycling through the application of science.”
