Innovation in Water Challenge

Ofwat, the Water Services Regulation Authority for England and Wales, has established a £200 million Innovation Fund to grow the water sector’s capacity to innovate. This focuses on commercial partnerships between water suppliers, research institutions, start-ups and SMEs. Enabling collective approaches to better meet the evolving needs of customers, society and the environment.

Applications can be made within any of the following innovation categories:

  1. Achieving net-zero and responding to climate change;
  2. Improving/protecting biodiversity;
  3. Addressing infrastructure risks;
  4. Delivering wider public sector value;
  5. Data innovation and collaboration

Funding rate:

Grants between £50k – £250K per project partner and up to £2 million project funding in total.

Deadline:

The closing date for applications is 26 February 2021.
